INDY CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR PROPOSES CASINOS FOR CATSKILLS "NewYork Casinos would generate $700 million a year in new revenue" says Davis
Kristin Davis, the former Manhattan Madam now running for Governor of New York on a libertarian agenda today added a proposal for Casino Gambling in the Catskills to her platform. Davis proposed that the state license four casino resorts in the Catskills region which she said could generate as much as $4 Billion a year in revenues with the state capturing at least $700 million a year.
"New York is losing $8M in gambling revenue every year to New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania said Davis, a former hedge fund vice president who later opened the most sucessful escort service in U.S. history before pleading guilty to promoting prostitution in the Eliot Spitzer scandal " It's time to keep most of that money in New York to help balance our budget and create jobs"
"Four facilities in the Catskills, assuming slot and table gaming, could produce almost $4 billion in income if developed with comprehensive resorts with hotel facilities" said Davis " At least 25% of the revenue will originate from out of state, possibly as much as 33%" Davis said her proposal called for at least 12,000 slots and 250 tables to be installed and predicted the win per gaming position will exceed $250 per day.
"New York needs a gaming tax that generates state revenue, yet enables operators to continually engage in capital improvements. The rate should be between 30 and 35%. Within 5 years the State will receive in excess of $750M in gaming taxes and an additional $65-70M ancillary taxes per year" said Davis who supports the legalization, regulation and taxation of marijuana and Gay marriage as part of her libertarian agenda for New York.
"My proposal will create 20,000 construction jobs with over $700M in payroll" said Davis who will gather 15,000 signatures in July to place her independent candidacy on the ballot " Not to mention 12,000-16,000 permanent jobs will earn over $500M per year" she said.
